So I grew up in urban areas of Massachusetts. Before moving to Portland I lived on the B line in Brighton. In bigger cities there are things that just don't cross your mind in the course of any given day.
That all changed when I came home with 3 1/2 lbs of bees. Without planning on it, I started checking the weather every day (which in May this year was like, "Is it going to stop raining tomorrow? No. The next day? No. Next week? No."). I have become so much more in tune with weather and weather patterns.
Next, I started noticing every flowering plant in my area. I've started to learn which flowers grow in my area, and when they bloom. I don't know what other changes will come, but I'm looking forward to them.
